Macintosh Sysfont Chicago - Pixel Art & Gameboy Font
The Macintosh "System 1" is the first major release of the classic Mac OS operating system, released on January 24, 1984, along with the Macintosh 128K, the first in the Macintosh family of personal computers.
System 1 had two major system fonts, created by Apple designer Susan Kare: Sysfont, later known as Chicago, and another font for smaller text. I couldn't find the name nor the font file for the latter, so I made it myself:
This 98-glyphs font works well for pixel art and a general retro look. It can be used with Aseprite, Libresprite, Photoshop, Photopea, and other apps. I have also created a GB Studio version for your Game Boy projects.
Creative Commons Attribution license. Attribution and donations are highly appreciated.
Just unzip the .ZIP file and double-click to install the .TTF file. As for the GB Studio font, put the files in your project's fonts folder and rename them gbs-mono.png and gbs-var.png if you would like to make it the main font for your game.
I have also made other fonts: Our fonts & assets.
