Progress #2

Big progress on the Vermeer project!
The interactive painting mechanic is almost working! You can use a virtual brush to paint directly onto a small canvas in-game, tile by tile — a simplified but surprisingly satisfying tool. You can also reset your creation or resume it later with a minimal “save/load” menu built entirely without a battery save.
I’ve been refining the story events and conditional variables to reflect Vermeer’s state of mind, depending on whether you’ve found colors, brushes, and patrons. Each interaction now responds dynamically to your progress — small touches, but they make the house feel alive.
A couple of rooms have been updated with period-appropriate paintings that could have plausibly remained in the house after Vermeer’s death. Some imagined dialogue is inspired by the historical people who supported or lived with him, such as his wife Catharina or patron Pieter van Ruijven.
The structure is growing complex, and GB Studio’s limits are challenging, but it's shaping up. Still aiming to balance historical weight with accessible, poetic gameplay.
This is a personal, slowly-built project. Still no release date. Just love and curiosity driving it forward.
Stay tuned and follow the journey.
